About Me

My name is Amanda Heard Sitka and I am a marketing and communications professional in the field of higher education. I have worked for Wharton County Junior College as Internet Marketing Coordinator since early 2010 and I received my Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Sam Houston State University in December 2016. During my time at WCJC I have worked on a variety of campaigns and marketing initiatives that span from social media administration to web content development and video production. These projects have allowed me to hone my skills as an artist in the areas of layout, design and photography and develop expertise in Adobe Creative Suite software. My graduate study allowed me to expand my professional administrative skills and develop a thorough understanding of student development and effective leadership practices.  I am a dedicated professional and I believe in the power of strong management that works toward a vision to create success in any institutional endeavor. In my free time I write and paint to connect to my creative spirit.
